Chin / Cheek Implant in Beverly Hills

Chin Augmentation

Chin augmentation is one of the fastest growing cosmetic enhancements and is key to obtaining a sculpted jawline. A weak or receding chin can affect your facial balance. A well-defined chin helps provide definition to the face and creates in one’s profile a strong sculpted profile. By augmenting a weak or receding chin, one is able to bring harmony between your facial features, achieving harmonious beauty and balance.

A weak chin or a chin that recedes can draw attention to other features of your face, such as your nose, making it appear larger and more prominent than you like. In fact, the chins relation to the nose is important and routinely analyzed during the rhinoplasty consult to assess for facial balance. Obtaining optimum balance and facial symmetry maximizes the beauty of your lower face, and a gives you a profile that looks “just right”.

A weak or out of proportion chin can further contribute to the appearance of a short neck or less than prominent jawline. For individuals with a short neck, a chin implant combined with neck liposculpture can create the appearance of a slimmer, more angled neckline. Dr. Edween enhances the appearance of the chin through a variety of techniques, including using injectable fillers, fat grafting, and implants.

Chin Augmentation Using Filler

Dr. Edween uses hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite fillers to add volume to and shape the chin. This enhancement technique safely and efficiently in her office in less than an hour. Injectable fillers allow Dr. Edween to tailor the size and shape of your chin to best match your facial shape, and the results last four to six months. This augmentation technique is a great choice for patients who want to see immediate results are not ready to commit to surgery.

Chin Augmentation Using Fat Grafting

Dr. Edween can use fat grafting to shape and sculpt a more prominent chin. This technique is ideal for patients who wish to have permanent results but do not desire more invasive surgical correction. Liposuction is used to harvest excess fat from an area of the body, such as the hips, abdomen, or flanks. Dr. Edween then processes the fat to produce a stable injectable fat graft that is used to artistically sculpt the size and shape of your chin. This augmentation technique provides permanent results and is less invasive than using implants.

Chin Augmentation Using Implants

Chin augmentation using implants is an excellent option for patients looking for a permanent and predictable correction. Dr. Edween uses custom chosen soft silicone implants to mold the chin.

A small incision either through the mouth or underneath the chin, and a silicone implant is meticulously placed into the pocket and examined for exact placement. Dr. Edween’s artistry comes in precise placement of the implant, to create a pleasing harmonious profile and prominent jaw angle.

Cheek augmentation/Cheek Lift

A full face with full defined cheeks characterize youth and beauty.  As we age, time and gravity eventually takes its toll, causing the face loses fat, the cheeks to lose volume and become flat and saggy.  These age related changes give rise to a hollow and sunken-in look. Restoring the appearance of sculpted cheeks can be accomplished through both nonsurgical and surgical techniques that aim at restoring plumpness, volume and definition. To restore volume to the midface and recreate youthful contours, facial plastic surgeon Dr Edween may suggest fillers, fat grafting or facial implants.

Injectable Fillers for Cheek Augmentation

The volume lost with age can be restored by injecting filler products into the cheekbone areas.  The rejuvenated results are visible immediately, providing a viable options for those patients that aren’t ready to undergo surgery.

Filler products such as Juvederm Voluma, Restylane Lyft or Radiesse can fill and correct volume loss in the cheek area. These fillers work well and are considered safe, however have varying effects of fill and length and duration.

Fat Grafting for Cheek Augmentation

For areas in which a more long lasting solution for fullness is desired, fat can be transferred into that deflated area to restore the volume loss.  Dr. Edween harvests the fat from an area of your body (usually from hip or abdomen), and through a special processing technique produces a stable injectable fat graft used to build back natural contours and sculpt the desired shape.

There are many variables that determine on how much of the transferred fat will remain permanently, so additional fat transfer procedures may be necessary.  However, once the fat grafts are established, long term cheek fullness can be achieved.

Implants for Cheek Augmentation

Along with fat grafting, cheek implants are another option for either restoring the fullness of youth or can be used to create definition and fullness to the cheek area where bone structure is not as prominent.  The placement of silicone implants, is ideal for someone who wants to add a significant volume, as opposed to a slight increase, to the cheek area.

The procedure involves a small incision placed inside the mouth.  Dr. Edween will then insert a silicone cheek implant, into the pocket created.  Obtaining facial balance is crucial and meticulous precision is used to guide the implant into exact placement.
